There needs to be a choice in hight weapons and not just one type that over shadows everything. There could be some differences but basically they are balanced. That way you will not see everyone fighting with the same weapon or armor for that matter. Syn needs to have Whisp list out all the weapons and armor in the game and have another Imm go through and add stuff where it's missing. Not saying to do a complete change but find what is needed instead. I know several imms in the past tried to do just that with the new areas popping up but there was never a list produced to help.

Perhaps you could modify Titanic attack to allow a Titan 1 full round of combat attacks against an opponent, without them being able to attack in return, due to the Titan's enormous reach, and perhaps a titan could use a skill to 'distance' himself from combat to regain his reach advantage.
In the same vein, dwarves and elves might gain bonuses if they can move in close to a titan. :twisted:

Ok, I haven't read this in a long time, but I don't feel like reading it all as it's absurdly long and I did a while ago.
Either way, whatsay we remove the two-handed in primary from Titan? To me, this sounds like a remort-only thing. Fine, let Colossus keep it too, just not have a mort be able to do it. They're already so unbalanced in almost every way and already the best race for combat (combat meaning pure fighting, not meaning pk) in the game (due to extra attack, high hp, and such), this just gives them an absurd boost. I just think that particular ability should really be a remort-only thing. I originally wanted this to be special and still be a Dragon-only thing like it was at first, but if improved breath damages are implemented correctly, I won't care at all if Colossus gets it too… then we'll have something worthwhile.

While I was without internet I tossed some ideas in a notepad and here's the first…
Titans, due to their huge stature and thus longer arms, should gain 2 free rounds of combat with Titanic attack when they initiate combat, instead of an extra attack per round. Collosi could gain an extra round or two on top of that, (I counted the 1st round of "safe" combat that everyone gets in my calculations) for a range of 3-4 rounds...
Hmm, sounds a bit powerful after looking back at it, how about it allows 2 free rounds of combat and 1-2 attacks before the third round starts.

i dont think the problem is with titans having one extra attack. lets face it with the highest hp and more attacks then you there is no way your going to out melee one. so why try? i havent been here very long and havent really pkd at all here. but i have played dozens of pure pk muds and think i know what im talking about. i think people rely to heavily on melee to win in pk. maybe that means the mage classes need to be upped so magic plays a bigger role in pk combat. titans should have the lowest mana. highest hp/lowest mana. add a vuln if you want but it wont make a difference. remove titanic attack and all the titans will quit on you because thats why they chose the race. im new. i would probably just cut my losses delete and remake as a drow. see how everyone bitches when i get drow defence/dodge/parry/acrobatics/shield block outcast you and you never get a hit in. pk here requires more skill then most muds though it seems. timing spells is the most important thing you can do for yourself. if you miss a round your probably going to die. also. in cpk why not web/silence/blind/?maybe slow?? seems to me you do that and keep them blind they are dead. lets hope people dont figure out how to use potions though. cause then that wouldent really work. the options really are endless. although cpk is all about silence i think. upping casting time for any race is a stupid idea. also this is the wrong board but. remove class restrictions eg warrior/cleric/mage/thief is fine. anyone who goes 4 warrior classes is a moron. if you dont have heal and cure blind your dead if all you can do is spam bash/circle your dead.if you are 4 mage classes and get silenced your dead. balance is important. anyways just what i think. again im new here so i might be wrong about all of this. maybe the more i learn about the mud the less arrogant i will get :p

You're more right than what you think. I just wish more classes got cool **effective** things as well. Like Sith having a faster health Regeneration rate or Draconians having a natural resist to weapons because of their scales.

I'm not saying remove Titanic Attack. I'm just saying remove the ability of Titans to wear two-handed weapons in primary hand. They'll still have their extra attack but won't have the first however many attacks be based on a much more powerful weapon. Also, I'm in complete agreement with Fear in that since Titans have the most hp, they should have the least mana. It just doesn't make sense that they have both more hp and more mana than Minos, the other high-hp, low-mana race.

I think that Dari is correct about titans not being able to use 2 handed weapons as one. I think that it should be a remort ability later on. But titans shouldn't be tampered with too much more. A person with chain lightning can EASILY kill a titan in a few turns with the amount of damage it does.

and watch out for those people with potions of chain lightning..just drinking away. It's cheap… they get in about 12 chain lightnings a round and there's nothing you can do by the time you're doomed.
