I'd like to see a healthy sized area devoted to housing stock/common items or items that span multiple areas and don't really belong in a given location. It would be like Wilderness Stock, only any authorized builder can edit there and load from there. With the creater sig in place, a flag could be added to the area that prevents all builders except Imps and designated immortals from editting any item there if the Creator signature doesn't match, so you don't have people butchering items.
Just a thought.

It's a pretty good idea, we just have to impose some limit on it such that only the creator of an item can edit it or something. I know from personal experience that when you give a whole bunch of people access to an area, people will tend to change other people's shit with disastrous results. What vnum range would be good for it?

Well, first I think we should come up with a list of items that could go there, at least a good preliminary amount, then multiply that by a reasonable scale factor.
For instance:
gemstones, animal parts used in quests (such as the fox fur pelt), utility items used in building (a park bench is a park bench), elemental ingredients for scripts (sulfur, coal, etc).
Another thing, make the area show up on lore as "this is commonly found" instead of "not of the mortal realm" and some such.
