Hi there, I'm Hrithma,a new RP imm. I just wanted you guys to give me some input as to what you guys are looking for in a RP event. Please let me know so i can try to correlate my events towards what you are looking fo, within reason of course :)

Welcome aboard Hrithma! I'm excited to see what you have in store for us. *grins*

All I ask for is an event that anyone of any level can participate in as a group.

Xavis, everyone on the MUD can't all undertake the same quest at the same time… Unless you just set up a role for each player to fulfull, and we all got good QPs, XPs, and Pracs for attending. :D Hrithma, you should find players who want to attend or seek special goals or rewards, like special armor, items or weapons, large xp or QP bonuses, and some great threat or deed to accomplish. That part is all pretty simple at least. It would be more fun however to find a group of diverse characters, and put them up against a couple tasks, toss in some monsters/treasure chests with nifty eq, a puzzle to for some bonus loot(in generous xp, QP, or perhaps even pnuema), and a nice tough boss to perhaps start some double xp for everyone. I think if you work it right, you can get the players to provide you enough ideas so you don't have to focus on that aspect of the events you run, and can focus on the actual building part of your job. :) My character Pravus would love to go on a quest for a magical kodachi shortsword, using his stealth and serpent wiles to destroy all opponents.

Well thats some good input, prav, and i will consider your idea's, i started this post for people to give me thoughts, and input as to what they would like to see. *nudges everyone* so post what you'd like to see, or what you would be most likely to participate in. What type of events, so on and so forth. I'd like to make my events as in-tune to the players as i can make them, so if you guys can feed me with your wants and woes, perhaps i can tailor some events towards a centerpoint, so that everyone can participate and enjoy it. and one other thing, i'm trying to make events more for people joining together and helping each other, not merely for eq and stuff, not to say there won't be any, but by these events i'm looking to invoke some roleplaying, and player comradery by banding together and working to solve some puzzles/mysteries/etc. So please, let me know what your into, what you want, and what you would like to participate in.

Then the way to set this up is to design a senario based on the ammount of players you want per run(I'd suggest 4-6), and give perhaps 1,2, or even all of the players a hidden agenda that can come through to make it interesting. Take me for example. :D If I was traveling with a troup of 4 other evil 4th classer non-remorts, I'd be up to something. Trying to steal something valuable or powerful while on the way, try to off one of my party members durring a weakened state(someone hired me to kill them for a past vendetta ), or perhaps someone wishes to take me out or steal from me. I could just see the reactions of the party when they see Tiglas or Spunky on **where**, durring our rp quest. I personally think it would be a fun test as a player if you had interesting mob combatants with weaknesses we could find and exploit, and not to mention the fun of playing with a group of players.

That sounds fun Pravus. *smiles* I think that it should be something in which people of all levels can participate and have a chance of doing well. Sure, any level could participate in a "go kill this huge guy and try not to get killed" type quest, but only the higher levels would have a chance of doing well. It needs to be something where everyone has an fairly equal chance of finishing and living to tell the tale.

I would suggest the parties be made up of characters no more than 1 class apart. The immortals in charge of designing these quests could set them up like we have the arena brackets, and run 1 quest per bracket all at the same time or within a couple days of each other if that is more feasable. These rp quests could be an interesting way to open and showcase a new area, new equipment, or new mobs. I think it would be really fun if the character was contacted in a roleplay oriented manner about being chosen for the quest, and I think this should hapen right before the quest. (my suggestion to the imms is to make plot related mobiles with eq, stats, and descriptions, and shift into them to inform the chosen participant. :D)

I think it would be extremly fun to shadow a character while wizi while they search through a cool area, and perhaps place a new object in the area for the player to find. "Woah, what's this? I've searched through Mystica all the time and never found Panther Claws before… Woah, they're a hand to hand weapon..." And as the player is returning or continuing to wander, you could transport them into the RP quest area, which you could alter every time. "Woah, I never noticed (hidden)A small niche in the wall. before in Mystica…" So they pull the nich and open a secret passage through Mystica, fight a couple new interesting monsters who pop out, and the rest is the Quest. I can just imagine the 2 or 3 imms set on this stalking the 5 players and them stumbling in this mini-realm. 'Hey Darigaaz, how'd you stumble into here? Wanna see my new weapon?' How do you guys think players should be chosen for these? I know I'd probably like to play with everyone on the mud in one of these, but it would be more fun to play with your friends.(Hey, who wouldn't want Sirrus watching your back?) I personally think that quests like these do better if you have a specific character in mind, so I don't think just randomly picking people will work.
