This area would be a connectivity area, used to link various underwater areas together, as well as have massive danger elements to make these "quicker" avenues have a heavy price. They would be underwater, dark and PK. All exits in the area would be hidden and scripted to prevent people from just moving rapidly through them without sufficient powers. Those without will be at mercy of the current speed, which will operate using a delay timer.
I could see this used to connect Undersea to a few places on the wilderness, such as a vortex whirlpool in the southern polar regions as well as an ocean snippet in the Tundra area.
And currents could be designed to go VERTICAL too. This could lead to things such as the Heart of the Deep in Undersea moving to a location DEEP in the ocean, or having current rushes that blast you UP to the ocean surface.
