Just for those that weren't aware.. You can go into Your Account >> Change Info to set your online status. That'd be the dropdown menu next to "Allow users to see your online status." Yes means that you -are- visible, no means that you are not. Simple enough.

Eh..always been a feature..the user info block we had just didn't reflect hidden status or any of the other new things you see.. Also, as has likely been guessed already, admins can see through it, as little as that matters:
