Server was turned off sometime around tuesday, because of the pending Hurricane attack that was on its way to the South Louisiana Area. The University just opened for classes again so I found the box and turned it back on and started the mud.

Let me asure you I have confirmed that there are backups from the 19th of this month and i made copies of them, untill Syn can confirm that everything is fixed. The system itsself is untouched, just the mud. and the mud's shell account looks fine, only activity on it was from SYN

I have had that same problem. its hard sometimes One way around it is if you have ssh access to a Unix-ish machine elsewhere on the internet, you can use SSH tunnels to connect to muds.
