Keep the logs if Syn needs them he will ask for copies. As it is if you have any logs with references to my old shop being robbed please keep them. Yes it was robbed 2 times but not when they said it was. The shop has been gone since 2000\. But if we can trace them to having been in Omaha then I will press charges. I don't like this crap and it stops here.

Let me asure you I have confirmed that there are backups from the 19th of this month and i made copies of them, untill Syn can confirm that everything is fixed.
The system itsself is untouched, just the mud. and the mud's shell account looks fine, only activity on it was from SYN

If you guys want I will play library keeper and gladly burn copies ever often of the game and other programs we want to save. I can keep them safe. In the mean time let's get ahold of Ertai and Syn and get this all fixed.
NOTe: Something that has just been told to me. Since the Server is on a public University it's possible that the people hacking could face federal charges and in these times of great unrest it could mean they will have a friend named Bubba.

Londo save what you can of the damage they did before reinstalling a fresh copy of the game. I think we might have someone who could trace. But best to keep a copy in an case as proof to use later…..Grin

We've got a few people in the Sent channel. If you aren't familiar with IRC commands, I'll try to give you a quick rundown:
After opening mIRC, click on the options button in the upper left corner, if it does not open automatically.
You'll need to click the "Add" button over to the right. Name it whatever you want, but the server's name is EdgeIRC. The address is irc.edgeirc.net . The port is 6667.
Give yourself a name toward the bottom of the window.
Click "Connect."
When your client is connected, type "/join #Sentience"
Anyone in the channel can give you further help as you need it.

Ok, I was sitebanned pretty quickly, so I don't have much (he had control of ertai for most of the time), but thanks to the help of some people including someone from MM I have figured out a few things.
I know the person is not from Omaha, Jazelle. I do know the general location of the person, but I'm not going to give that out here.
I also know that while MM will be considerate to us, they cannot give out any information or dole out any punishment on MM itself according to policy. However, Vassago (out of courtesy) has been warned of the person and their capabilities.
If people would like to take legal action, I'm sure that the owners of the game would need to be involved, so until I hear from Syn lets keep our lawyers off the phone.
Syn has backup copies of the game and so no problems should arrise in restoring the game, however, any work I or other immortals have done in the last few days will be lost.
Londo, if I can get you the IP is there any chance your server can firewall that address? Also, I don't know how to e-mail you offhand (I will check your profile after this post) but n2brown@unix.cc.wmich.edu is my e-mail for future reference.
Sorry to everyone about this inconvenience and I hope, Londo, that you don't suffer any reprocussions either with your school or work because of what went on tonight.

It's the info they gave out that was rather telling there. As it is it's Londo's school that can go after them legally and that is backed by the feds there.
As for Knightotri when I knew him he would not of done such a thing. I'm guessing he was hacked just the same. If the guys on MM know who it is then legally they need to tell those who wish to press charges. I'm guessing that again would be Lando's school.
I hate to say this but something needs to be done so this can't happen again. There needs to be some kind of security system set up so it will be easy to trace problems.
I guess for many of us it's just the last straw and we're tried of having to sit by and watch crap happen. I may no like some of the players but I will support them to have access to the game and enjoy it.
Personally I think Syn and Londo and whoever else should go after their asses and stop this bull.
Ertai I never thought it was you doing it all. I know you to be a good person who is just plain fun. I feel you got the worse of this all since it was your account they used.
As I understand there is a back up from the 19th that is only a few days off so not too much lost there. Thanks for being so quick to reply and post. I will gladly do what ever I can to help you out and keep the game up and going. Feel free to ask you too Syn.

The people from MM know nothing besides the character name (aside from what I know), so there would be no reason to get them involved. It was more of a friendly warning that I talked to them to begin with.

Ah I miss read your post. I though you said they knew who it was. Got you. So been able to get a hold of Syn and possible get the game back up or is it going to be several days while everything is reinstalled?

I talked to Syn about 20 minutes ago and he told me that he would restart the game sometime tomorrow when he had a break in the day. As for now, he's just working with Londo to my knowledge. Ya'll will know when I do

I have the entire log of the incident from where it started which will probably only go to Syn and Ertai unless they want it made public. Unfortunately there wasn't much I could do as I immediately contacted Ertai and he got sitebanned and I was frozen. However they never disconnected me so I was around for the entire thing. I'm sorry for all the inconveniences caused by this and we'll do our best to get everything back up to speed. We appreciate all you guys do as I saw some of you defending the game over gossip and says when you all got transferred. Thank you all and I apologize again for the trouble.

I'm sorry that you all had to go through that. I read the log Inimical posted. I'm pretty pissed about the whole thing, but I'm sure that doesn't compare to you guys who were actually there. I hope the come is restored in a timely manner, and not too much is lost.
