I speak for myself when I saw that Arena's have lost it's touch. The was just something in it that just gave me the willies and I had to arena all the time. I wanna bring that back.

Challenging another person should be refered to as Dueling. Because that's what it is. 1 on 1. Syntax could be Duel Spunky.

Challenge would be for something extra special. Enter group combat. The groups would be small, 3 or 4 max, and only the leader can issue the challenge to another group with 3-4 members in it. The group fight would be done in another city, like Aethilforge or Achaues. When the challenge is issued, all members of the group would get a list of all the members on the opposising team, and will have to choose if they want to participate or not. If they don't then the match is cancelled.

During the time the issue is challenged, no one is allowed to leave the group and no one is allowed to enter the group. When the fight begins, the arena is closed off from anyone who is not a part of the fight. When someone "dies" They are in an incompacitated state. They can only lie dead on the ground, being able to look around and talk, until either the fight is either won, lost or they are ressurected.

For this to work, there would probably be a need for a new command. Lemme explain what this is. Lets call this command "Cease." What it does is it allows a players who is not taking damage to stop fighting so they are able to cast spells they are not able to cast during combat, or ressurect a fallen teammate or simply run away like a pussy.

I believe a simple thing like this would invite alot more sneakier tactics to be used. In the future, if we ever have healing spells that work from a room away, or just normal damage spells that work from a room away, this would cause players to think more about the situation and "Why is he still at full health dammit?!". Players with bows and arrows can sit back and attack from a distance. Someone can Cease combat and search for the offender and if they kill them, they can go back to their group and help out.

The reason why we would want players to be able to stay in the corpse and talk is because they can yell out for help and directions to where their corpse is laying.

There could be special rules in this arena. Like allowing a limited use of certain skills or spells. You can only use the equipment you have on, no changing your axe of awesomness for a sword of leet mid battle. No skulling players. Gold won't stay in your corpse if you die, since both teams would be whisked away after the fight has ended.

If you have any extra ideas, lets hear it!

actually, scratch that last part about Skulling fallen players. I encourage it. To fight against the team ressurecting him. But, what I do want to see is Skulling take some time. And that you can't be in combat to skull. It shouldn't be something you can just put in a trigger and forget about it. Someone can easily bash into them or kick them to initiate combat and the corpse would be safe. Another thing I wanna see, but I don't know if it's possible, is a little setback to dying and being ressurected. When you're ressurected, you gain a -15% reduction to your hp/mana/stamina that will only go away once the battle is over. If you die a second time, you get another -15% reduced, until a max total of 60% is reached. This also means that we need a larger selection of ressurection skills. The remort ressurection being the best one since it doesn't cost mana and (we should change it so your stats don't drop to 1 if you use it on a group member as well). Since mana is slow as hell to regen, when you die, you should keep your current mana unless the -15% cap drops below your current mana. Lemme share some ideas for different ressurection type spells. Revenge - Person is ressurected with full hp, mana and stamina(negate the death penalty) all good status effects in the caster's list, but the person is dead after 5 ticks and has to wait twice or three times the normal length to come back to life. Life - Person is ressurected but only has 1 hp, current mana at death, and 1 stamina. Rebirth - Person is resurrected with full stats, (penalty still exists) but this would be a powerful spell, so what I think is that it would need to be recharged, so the spell would be out of commission for 40-50 ticks or require the use of a moonstone. Angel Wings - Person ressurected would be teleported a few rooms away, with 1 hp, current mana, 1 stam but will not be able to use skills or spells for for a few seconds. Zombie - Person is ressurected as a zombie. Full health, current mana and stamina, but their health will constantly go down and heals will actually damage. Sacrifice - A quick casting spell that basically trades lives with one of the fallen group members in exchange for your own. The person ressurected will regain full stats (penalty still there). For a little twist, we could possibly make it that most of these skills is only available on Rings. It's obvious some classes would go hand in hand with some of these skills, but for the rest, you can put on a ring so you can contribute.
