before i actually make a comment about damages, ect…lets all remember before pk counters...before pk changes..before all that, arkain you were a fucking walking punching bag. dont fucking whine about "you were bigger, blah blah" bc now you do the same thing. and on a side note, i think i got something, but i'll let you see it when i'm done getting a few new items..then we'll see biotch...you forget who was on the wrong end of the knife before, and now that you(and it really isnt that special) have some kind of talent, you are some pk god. i've seen your stats here and elsewhere, and your percentages blow assnuggets. so just quit the pissing contest on here, take it where it belongs and stfu bc we are tired of hearing you talk about how you are so great, when the bottom line is your not(and yes this flame belongs elsewhere, but thats the last flame here about it from me) and never will be anywhere close to having the same finesse, the same class and dignity, and same mannerism as me. so stop trying to be me and lets all be creative in discussing the present topic.
but on to the good stuff.
as far as pk damage, why not just go back to how it was before any changes were made? everyone did the same amount without reference to evil vs good, no one was calling things unfair or unbalanced...then later on, we can slowly test and add pk adjustments as we go.
Since its logical to put in good vs evil and vice versa damage, why not do it on a smaller scale? instead of 25%, how about something small as a test, say 10%? then the stacking of damage (for instance, slayer with an antievil weapon would do 20% extra, ect) wouldnt be so overwhelming. i've noticed in a few arena battles with ith that i can take about 1200-1400 damage a round if a decent amount of attacks get thru, and his circle can do 800 at times. i've yet to test the new weapon i'm using on him effectively bc he got disconnected halfway thru and we lost the damage threads...but i'd like for me and him to test those damages again and see what i do in a round.
as for vamps, i think the sunlight thing with temperence mastered should drastically reduce sunlight damage (down to less than 50 per space moved at times). esp with fiends, since fiends are no longer really vampires in the pure sense of things. another small innovation could be that bite drains life/mana/movement back to the vampire/fiend, which maybe would make it a more viable pk skill.
open to constructive critisisms and discussion..but honestly, lets drop the pissing contest or take it elsewhere.

Apparently we have all missed some basic ideas within this post. I would like a few things pointed out to me.
When was this post originally intended to be a direct assault on you, Arkain?
When did it become constructive to degrade people responding to your posts?
Why can't we look at the objectively instead of with the standard "you suck, no you suck" formula that seems to overtake our message boards?
I have very little knowledge of the races, but I'm learning what I can from people that sound like they've done their research. This should be a lesson to everyone: Presentation is everything. If you come out swinging and defensive, you are taken much less seriously with regards to something that is intellectual rather than physical.

I've listened to what everyone has been saying since I first joined Sentience and in my opinion, Arkain is a hypocritical bully of the first kind. It could just be his nature though, Soth comes on like a grouchy prk when I know him to be fair & decent. Spunky's a good guy when he's not killing your mount. There are so many others to numerous to name. I come for the ppl as much as the game. Ppl need to chill and just have fun. This probably belongs elsewhere but I don't know where. Peace friends.

i was thinking something about vamps that could use some work...
when we shift, it still shows our auras and whatnot, which is a dead giveaway that we are there...defeating the point of sneaking up on prey..that could be something else to work on, and its been brought up before :)

Hmm.. that could work. If you look at it from a logical standpoint, you think, "but even if they change shape, that doesn't remove the sight of a pulsating aura about someone…" But then, this is a game, so who needs logic? Some sense of reality has to be sacrificed for the sake of fun.. so I say go for it, don't show the auras.

In my opinion, vampires are fine. The only thing I would change is the whole thing about the auras. And that, I think, should be determined by the % of the shape skill. I believe that the sun damage is rather reasonable if you think about it. Really you're lucky you get to take more than one step in that sun. You're deathly allergic to it after all. You have plenty to make up for it I think. The shape is quite a good bit. Feign is rather beneficial too, if you use it right. Then of course, you have shift, bite, consume, and a few other things I think.
Just plan around it. Hang around in a dungeon or something during the daytime, and creep around at night. Not too hard to do really.
That's what I think anyway. If you can't tolerate the sun damage, then stay indoors or don't be a vampire.

vamps really arent all the screwed up if you ask me, the sun thing is a little lame, and the holy damage that they take is insane. I still say remove all the holy aspects from the game until there's something to help balance it. I dont mean to pick on arkain like everyone else, but im not even a vamp and im still gettin owned by that holy crap. Here's a log, enjoy the presentation of insanity…

I was silence/blind at the time but ill guarantee you that's arkain.
Anyway, you all know im not a whiner...USUALLY..but as you can see ..a circle taking me from 2673 hp to 749 is a biiiit much. With that kind of damage added to silence=not being able to heal, i, nor anyone who has a holy vuln stands a chance in hell.

I have to agree with Spunky that is too much damage. Holy damage even hits neutral players hard too and it shouldn't. It does seem to be very much one sided at this time.

Another thing I forgot- Vamps resist magic. That's yet another thing to balance out that sundamage.

Balance out sundamage? are you high? they get shift all the time… thats the best skill by far in the game... they need alot of vulns... id take vul to sunlight and be able to shift anyday, titans take 900 damage to lightning bolt without sanc... tahts more the sunlight anyday

While I hate to do it guys, I agree with Arkain on that point. The shift is insanely good, I'd trade it as well. The Sage remort class was supposed to be able to see through it anyway, that never happened.
I also agree with Spunky how there's not very much wrong with Vampire/Fiend, however the damage from certain things is a bit much, imo. I think if you're going to change too much about vampire (for the good, as in more skills/less vulns, along those lines) then Shift will need to be toned down. It seems a bit Nazi MM'ish, but maybe having shift be only during the night, with older vampires having a larger span of time, eventually getting it for a long time, maybe 18 hours out of a 24 hour day, 9 o'clock AM to 5 o'clock PM being the "middle" of the day and hence them not being able to shift during that time. Something along those lines.
Feel free to ream me about this issue, as I don't care very much. :) Just an idea.

Belexus, do you mean shift, or do you mean shape? Shift is when they turn into a werewolf and claw the crap out of you. Shape is where they turn into any mob from the game.

i agree totally with belexus, i dont think its as much as a good vs evil thing its the choice of weapons.. the glaive for exmaple does a long more then a axe of withering.. i think there vul to holy should be a little less.. or the good vs evil thing removed but the holy weapons against evil and evil weapons against good should do more damage… or something.. lemme know what u think
