tell me about it….. the man always keeps the Drow down only thing i got from remort was this rock oh goody i can see if you are good evil or have eaten your breakfast thats pretty good for a Spectr dunt ya think *dimples* exit stage left CA

Oh yeah, I forgot that remorts can go longer than morts without needing food/water. We get a lower grocery bill!

the problem isnt only with remort races, its with the base races too. For example; Dracons get fire breath, slayers get that whole smite thee with holyness thing, vamps get shape, elves get racial haste..etc etc you see my point. Drow get big bad swerve. Which WOULD be decent, if it worked in lieu of the other defenses. Instead, it just triggers before dodge or parry and replaces what would normally be a totally effective defense ANYWAY. I went all through my drow mort thinking, "man this blows". THEN remorts were announced and i was like "HELL YEA! We'll finally get somethin cool!" But no, we got nothin, while all the cool races who already HAD something decent, got more cool shit. Dragons get to wield two handed weapons in one hand along with titans and minos..etc etc. Anyway, my point is, drow are getting completely screwed. Im not just saying this to try and benefit myself, im sure im not the only person irked by it. Aside from fade, which i never use anymore and resurrect, which every other remort received anyway, we spectres got nothing of use. Add that to the nothing we received to begin with and that leaves you with…you guessed it, nothing! So, i have a few ideas, some for drow and some for spectre. And anyone else's ideas are more than welcome. Okay so you have drow, they live in the dark, fight big brutish things everyday and generally own. Now they have infrared already, so they can see GLOWING eyes in the room when it's dark in there. That never really made sense to me, because every example of infrared ive seen, you could see a pretty damn good outline of the person, along with features..not just their eyes. So maybe the racial infrared could be modified so you could see people in the dark. Not the room itself, just the persons occupying the room at the time. Exactly how infrared DOES work. That was merely a fix. Now as for swerve, what would be COOL is if swerve would work 100% or ALMOST 100% of the time as an EXTRA defense. Not somethin that just happens to trigger before dodge and replace it. That's pointless. Make it a completely extra defense in itself, exactly how second ATTACK works. That would give that racial ability some merit and accredit the drow's agility. Onto spectres. As i said before, our race received nothing from remort. And i mean come on, a spectre has to be able to do one or two cool things, its a fuckin spectre! I tossed this idea out a while ago, and i still like it. It was sort of like a shadow stalking skill. Where the spectre could meld into the victim's shadow and follow (as in form follow) the person that they choose. Now obviously this skill could be easily abused, hopping onto just anyone and following them until they hit a pk room would be wrong. So you could make it PK only, and maybe put a timer on it. What it would do is allow you to follow the person with a type of invis that they couldnt see through (cept maybe sages with deception..those wise little bastards) and tag along for the alotted amount of time. You wouldnt be able to attack anyone without making yourself known first due to the unfair advantage. It's a solid idea i think, just needs a bit of tweaking here and there. One last little idea i had has to do with how the spectres look. As far as i know, spectres have always been ..rather terrifying. So i was thinking of something along the lines of a scare ability. Slayers have it attached to their shift already, they can scare evil mobs/pc's into adjacent rooms. Im thinking of something like that for spectre, just the opposite. The ability to frighten the good aligned chars/mobs into other rooms. I also know that seraphs and spectres are going to get some kind of winged flying ability or whatever. With a couple additions to spectre and a one or two more to seraphs (who got sorta gipped too), it should make things a bit more enjoyable :) let me know what yall think

For both Seraph and Spectre how about a racial charm? They are supposed to be the most beautiful creatures in existance, you know…

  • registered

charm isnt really working atm, and if it did, a racial charm would be way too abuseable in cpk

If it was fixed, and working appropriately (by which I mean balanced) it wouldn't be that bad.

I think the only way to fix the swerve extra defense thing is limiting how many times a player can use a defense in a round.

good thinking, parry once, dodge once..swerve once..works for me:P

I like the shadow follow idea Spunky. As far as I know Fiends didnt get anything they didnt have as Vamps. Some suggestions, again some already mentioned. Half the sun damage for a fiend. A racial giant strength(they are supposed to be super strong I think this racial ability should let thier str max be greater than 25 maybe like 30 or so. I dunno, those are only I can think of atm.

Okay here's an idea for Fiends. They lose the sun damage. Since they aren't true vampires anymore and all…

~~@Xavis:~~ > I think the only way to fix the swerve extra defense thing is limiting how many times a player can use a defense in a round. Against the person you are fighting, there shouldn't be a limit. If there are other people attacking as well, then there should start being a reduction as your attention is starting to spread out.

~~@Elmah:~~ > My impression of removing Angel, Demon, and Mystic in exchange for the individual remort races was so that each remort race could have unique properties. Maybe I just am not aware of them, but do the remort races get any bonuses other than what they got anyway? For example, does Changeling get something special that say, Seraph does not(aside from the thing associated with their normal mort versions)? Does Hell Baron gain anything that Fiend doesn't, aside from a cool name? You get the idea. totally right on all accounts. Will get lookd at when i have time!

One way to think about it in coming up with specific new skills/spells for the remort races would be to see the remort races as evolved and more perfect versions of their previous race. Like see an Avatar as a Super Human. Hope that helps!

And give them wonder twin powers! Just don't tell them who their wonder twin is.

I'm not sure when all this was posted, but I'm pretty sure swerve works a little differently than you think. I was under the impression that each defensive skill has a certain percent chance of working. Yes, swerve may be triggered first, but from what I know, it just adds another percent that people need to get through to hit you: 1 attack… 80%chance to get through swerve 90%chance to get through parry 90%chance to get through acrobatics 90%chance to get through dodge If I missed any, you get the idea. Also, the numbers are probably not correct, but I am almost positive swerve has a 20% chance of triggering. eRT

crikey, if you think about it, having a defense at 10% probably wouldn't make much of an impact if you had it mastered :/
