An unpass doored mount shouldn't be able to go through doors with you.
-
While this wouldn't affect me one iota, wouldn't that just be a pain in the ass with no redeeming value?
-
No, not particularly. It will increase the usage of scribing.
-
And make putting pass_door on your pmounts something worthwhile to pay for. :)
Of course, what should happen if you try to do it and it's not pass_door'd? Either not do it or make you fall through the door? ;) :D
-
You pass through the door, but your mount slams its face into it.
The door to the west is bashed open. (no clue what it looks like from the other side)
Mount comes in through the door and kicks you in the head for slamming its head into the door.
-
rofl…. your mount goes insane and kills you for letting it slam into the wall.
-
HRmm, I can see both sides of this argument. The close proximity of you to your mount and the power of the pass door spell allows it to transfer to the mount, after all you are sitting on its back.
Possibly allow it to pass, but have it damage it slightly.
Now on the other hand the above argument could be used to say the reverse should be true, if mount has it rider does. Also this should work for other aura type spells, shield, armor and sanctuary.
I dont know if I necessarily think they should, just a nother monkey in the works type of suggestion.
-
I guess when it comes to whether spells on the mounts would affect the rider and vice versa, they should extend, but have less of an effect on them. Perhaps make it where it doesn't always allow you to pass through.
Also, shouldn't being mounted also reduce you roll values unless you have a mounted fighting style learned?
-
Not sure if it reduces without the style, but i think the style may increase them. Not sure on this

Why does everything have to have an elaborate "rp" explanation? I think mounts passing through doors if the rider has pass door is a matter of convenience. The last thing we need to start adding are obnoxious additions ala the mud whose name we do not utter (yes i realize mounts can pass through doors there). Cumbersome tweaks that slow down the pace of play and make gaming more of chore than a good time is a dangerous road to start down.
