I'm going to agree with ert on this one. Level restricted pk would cut into the fun of pk.
-
Cut the fun, or mean that you actually have to work for that elusive Pk, and i dont see how it would restrict Pk it would only stop a few from ruling all ala CoP days of thunder, for that fact if you want to still have a learning curve you can easily have kill morts only 10 levels lower and remorts is still free for all and turn 65 % of the game over to NPK and 15% to cpk , you then have most of the game in pk which would then make life difficult when you have someone within range jump you yet at the same time give you a chance to survive it ,, or shall we return to the days of portal camping cause all the 120's are in the same church. There is a restriction on Pking under level 30 (might only be recconing)why cause thay dont have a hope in hell, yet neither does a 2nd or 3rd class upagainst a 4th, remort or not these days. The trouble with PK is that there is no one to pk, plain and simple, make it so lower levels dont have to fear the highest and i will be being chased about by 10 or so 3rd classes all day long.
-
At present we all have the choise to opt an or out of total pk at a peronal level and a church level, the reson everyone opts out is because it is unfair and biased towards a minoritory who spend all thier time at home or rifted. Balance it up and make it fare, and you will then have others joining in the fun, i see no excitement in killing a 2nd class mort , but dream of a day when in will atleaste hold my own against the likes of soth and spunky.

Damn, there was a day when my name was mentioned, everyone with a pk flag shat their pants :P The downsides of retirement. Everytime I try pk, it's changed and I die real quick.
-
its nice to have fans, so thanks for the vote. In my day, ppl ran like hell, and the only people who could lay a hand on me were my own church members:) …but xavis has a good point...i'm not an active pk'er anymore...and after a few displays today, i dont see where the system changed much for me..i'm still taking damage thats crazy, even by our standards, and shits just not right somehow. dunno, and dont care.
i retired from the pk playing fields the second the game came back up after our huge downtime. with other projects going on, and resposibilities elsewhere, pk being whacked just gives me another reason not to bother.
till next time.

You guys make me laugh.

If it was still in my PK days, you would have been crying :P
-
I was around in your glorious "pk days" and it wasnt much like the descriptions you're providing
-
Lies! All Lies!@# *bawls* Besides, I don't recall you ever owning a PK flag so you wouldn't know what it was like if you saw me enter the room :P
Even I shat myself!!

Your memory is obviously suffering, I was the only churchless pk toggled player and made it my mission to disrupt CoP as often as possible. I'm sure Soth remembers.

Oddly enough, *I* remember that.
-
Oh… Well then I don't remember killing you at all :P
-
i remember you did. and you were about it :P
those were fun times, never to be seen again :)

-
Damn, for real? There needs to be like a PK history or something that shows who've you killed in the past and how many times, cause I really don't remember :/
-
meh…see, i've told these kids this xavis, and they dont get it...
long before pk counters, how many times did we pk people? i seriously dont think its a stretch to say our numbers, before the counters were put in, would make our counts double or triple if they were kept track of...
hell, it says right now i have 4 cpk kills? thats bs...i cpk'ed pepper 4 times that i remember :P that doesnt count anyone i nailed at the portal, down at daktos, ect... so the counters seriously dont do us justice in those respects.
anyway..back to sleep.

oh sure ANYONE can PK…..lol
its the win i got against Xav in the Arena that still makes me shiver..

**swoon** PK = sexy
>D

in the essence of level restricked PK, i really don't think thats a good idea. Part of the whole thing being small is learning how to run and knowing where you just should not be when certain people are around. I fail to remember the amount of times i got owned, but really if you go to big bad red places you have to expect somethin. *Shrug* the only realy problem i have with PK is people that camp at the portal to the abyss, thats just sad, find a life or at least something to do failing that.

Even I remember Inimical being toggled pk while churchless. However, Inimical, CoP did dominate PK at the time. Anyone who could PK worth a damn was in CoP, and many church fell under us. Many toggled PK off, also. But the PK system changed, numerous down times, etc, and now, PK is a frivilous thought on the backhand of someone wiping their ass. Changes to PK without changing the PK system:
During reckonings, only recall rooms should be safe, all other safe should not.
During reckonings, people in social need to be booted into the game.
During reckonings, people should occasionally flee from fear of the purple mist more often, reguardless if they're sitting or standing.
Levels 1-2 of poa should not be pk, lvl 3-4 npk, and level 5 cpk. This gives lower level people a little safety while souling/leveling, while anyone who wants to gain good xp has to work for it at higher levels. Make them fight for it. This isn't a teddy bear mud.
Add more CPK to the game, but not much, maybe like 5 more rooms to each large area (200+ room areas). and 3 to 100+ room areas.
that's all, and have a nice day.
