With the influx of weight problems, could it be coded so that the armour that is worn has a 50% weight reduction? Logically, this makes sense as items worn do feel to weigh less since more of the body is distributing the weight rather than just the arms.

Or, the other way around? Thirty pounds of armour is still thirty pounds of armor when draped over your body. But carrying the same weight in your arms, further out from your center of gravity would FEEL heavier (even though it's just physics at work making your arm want to lower due to the weight being so far out, think levers!) Perhaps make the weight on the item what is computed when you wear it, but add a percentage to it when in your inventory.
Hell, maybe have a flag for objects that makes them heavy to pick UP (adding a good percentage of their weight to their perceived weight).
Also, most of the weight on eq was done when it was in pounds. Kilograms are heavier than pounds, so the weight values on everything prior to that "change" should be shifted down to account for that.
More later when I think of it.

I wasn't thinking of anything overly complicated at the moment, just something to alleviate the current weight problem until something more permanent can be found. If I were levelling, which I would NEVER do again in this game unless it gets changed, the amount of souls for the long assed-walk to PoA would be highly discouraging at best. The few people who do go are lucky that it isn't patrolled like it used to be. It would be impossible for them to get through. At least when it was a shorter walk, they had a slim chance.

You have a good point with that reduction of armor weight thing. I'll add it in as it has been suggested by other people.
