i really like the tattoo idea, but what about being disspelled? would it be considered a spell or a natural ablity? Someone might have answered this i was only skiming over it. Thanks Crawley

I like your ideas Ith but I'd like to point out that the damage types might ought to be limited to a select few. Or maybe the cost would be enough to allow for any type.. Not sure. I could see some guy with a bunch of 120 weapons that each have a damage type tailored for each individual race. Maybe that'd be OK with the cost though…. Also sidenote to Red: FYI there used to be a sword of sentience. They took it away, not sure why. I think they had trouble getting the damage to calculate properly. I definitely vote for that to be looked at by all the new imms to get it fixed though. I miss it :( Star, I love the breastplate idea for some reason. However because it would be an item of such great armor it should be VERY expensive. Like nearly as expensive as say the starchart or something. Also I think a shiny little echo'd be nice :D like if you're outside 'the cuirass of sentience (or whatever) dazzles in the sunlight/moonlight" just tossing in my thoughts...

Nod but the old sword not near as kewl as the one I suggested. :)

I don't agree with it. It would make the weapon of sentience the most powerful in the game, and for 8k qp? no way. A person could have one for every race and just annihilate them. 360 dmg should be reserved to the big weapons out there now. While other quest items would be cool, right now they aren't needed as greatly as new areas are. And with these new areas always comes something that may warrent a new quest item that isn't ignorant in it's entirity, a replay of what's already been done, or too complicated/expensive for younger noobs.

Nod Myth, but i dont think I said it had to be only 8k qp. At that "cheap" it would be possible. Though, very few people quest enough to get the 40K qp needed to get 5 at that level. Which is about what it would take, just a rough guess. Not sure exactly how many would be needed and dont want to take the time to figure atm. :)

Even then, I still wouldn't agree with it. Possibly weapon enhancements, ie an item you can use on a weapon to give it +15hr and +15 dr for roughly 5k qp, only one item used per weapon.

A magical bow that uses magic for ammunition instead of arrows. The damage done would be solely based on the bow's dice, to be computed based on the bow's level. The distance would be a fixed value. Since the ammunition is magical, the bow will drain mana from the archer with each shot, the rate to be determined later. The damage type… haven't figured out what that should be. Maybe have it as energy or make it selectable or random. Shooting from or through a nomagic room will dissipate the shot. Maybe allow the shot to be deflected by an appropriate barrier/shield/field. To keep this from making all other bows obsolete, I propose this be saved until after it is possible to prevent someone from USING it unless they meet certain restrictions, such as a REALLY high archery or bow skill or a REALLY high mana. The name for this is like... unknown. Some candidates I've decided to list are the Crystal Bow, the Bow of Raven, the Aesir Longbow, the Weeping Willow. Suggestions would be nice.

Of those listed I like crystal bow. Though instead of "the crystal bow", "a crystal bow". Otherwise you make it look like it's a legendary single bow, not one that a King or Mayor is handing out to people. I also tend to stray away from the names of real life legends/myths etc… But I love the bow idea. I also REALLY like your earlier carrier pigeon idea.

A portable mail carrier I do like, as do I like the magical bow/crossbow idea (why limit it only to bow?). Maybe even a bow/xbow that lowers the shooting time also, with a fixed range (4-5).

    Very nice.
