Dispelling some affects

There are some affects that are dispelled with dispel that shouldn't be dispelled. Plague, poison, chill touch, and blindness are some of them. If dispelled, they are affects that aren't spells. You can't see, or you are sick, that is just bad luck. This will also work with another idea when people are in battle, and they are poisoned, cursed, blinded, etc, the person who wants to keep their apponent sick, to lower their strength, can fleely do so. Using cure blind, plugue etc can still be used, but with this added idea, would make warlocks more affective, along with other classes.

The problem with that is Dispel Magic is meant to dispel magical effects off you. Plague/Poison/Blind are magical effects. I magically blind you, or magically make you poisoned. So, if I inturn dispel magic you, I dispel the magicall effects I put on you.

Well, what I am saying is, if you bit by a snake, and it poisons you, then you will get sick, and weaker. It isn't a magical affect, it is a venom, and plague is a disease, but it can be dispelled. I don't have most of these affects so I don't worry about it, I was just thinking something like that could have a different affect slot, or just can't be dispelled with dispel magic. Either way. But the spells are magical affects. Poisons/diseases from other sources shouldn't be able to be dispelt, that I agree with, but be able to be removed from cure poison or cure disease.

You're idea makes sense but I don't think it would work too well. Cure blind is iffy at best, for me anyway. If someone dirt kicks you or you get blinded by smoke then dispels you, the blind is still there and you can't remove your eq and rewear it. That would make pk rather quick imo. It would basicly make pk come down to who could blind who first. Granted it's sometimes like that now, but I feel it would be a lot quicker if nonspell blind couldn't be dispelled.

What would cause a non-magical blind though? Dirt kick, that's about it. Flaming weapons is a magical effect on the weapon. A dragon breathing fire, or any other mob for that matter, could be taken as magical or non-magical. Definately fireball and casting blind are magical.
