Cancellation

As it seems now, cancellation is just a toned down version of dispel magic.
ie it can only be cast on the caster.

    Here is what i suggest:

Make it targetable to a specific effect, ie cast cancellation plague would attempt to remove plague from the caster.

Since it is more of an interior type spell, make it already be inside any aura such as spell deflection etc, so it could even be used to remove spell deflection,or any other affect while deflected.

Of course have a chance of missing and getting another affect or being totally ineffective depending on percentatge.

Anyways, this seems like a reasonable adjustment to me, what does everyone else think.

NO, I dont have this spell, but i play a character on alt that does :)

I don't think it should target any spell that has a cure for it. This defeats the purpose of having those spells. But removing things like slow, faerie fire, weaken and chill touch it should remove those without touching other beneficial spells.

I agree, this would make cancellation a much better spell. I hate casting it then having to remove all wear all and recast all my spells.

if you made it only take the bad spells away, cure poison/disease and remove curse would be worthless. However, I do agree letting it remove slow, silence (if casted just before the silence takes affect and then finished being casted of course), weakness, faerie fire, fire breath, etc.

It wouldn't make all the other removes worthless - lots of players do not have cancellation - including me now, since mine was removed with the update  Also it seems to be a higher level spell - just like people still use cure light etc because you work with what you have. Even for those players who have cancel and the other removes - if for example you're trying to remove poison, would you cast cancel with a chance of removing your beneficial spells and probably higher mana cost, or just cut to the chase and cast remove poison?

Well, seeing as how cancellation… kind of sucks atm, I could go with it targeting any one specific spell, and taking it out. But cancellation should cost its normal 20 or 25 mana, and also cost what the spell affecting them costs. This includes time, mana, and moonstone spells. People that use a moonstone to cast one of the most over costly spells in the game, slow, would make it almost pointless to use slow ever if someone can just use cancellation real fast to counter it. But making cancellation affect any spell would be worth it, even people behind spell deflection. It isn't like it would be hard to quaff a potion of spell deflection down if it is lost in battle. Just a thought. Balder
