Seems to be the case with all the assists, in general.
When switched to an assisting mob, I see this when trying to join the battle:
You can't show your emotions.
A blue silphania screams and attacks!

Is this skill useable during combat, or is it just to start combat?
If it is usable in combat, can it be added as an offensive flag? -

Races, forms and partsposted in Bug Reports
Unique cannot be used for a race selection, which is rather annoying. When using other races, and toggling off all forms and parts, at reboot/crash, the both are reloaded to default of the race, keeping anything else that you have set, as well.
Form instant_decay doesn't seem to do anything at all, and as far as I can tell, there is nothing to do this that isn't script related. -
RE: Enchanted forestYeah. What I had thought for it was that mid to late first age, the seraphs were pushed deeper into the forest and have resided since then within that place, protecting the gateway placed there. At the start of the second age, Elves emerge from the forests a bit to show that they are there, revealing themselves from their shame of being cursed by the creator. In the second age, they work on protecting the forests that they reside. After a while, their true story comes out that they were once Seraphs, now forced to atone their ways. When the third age comes around, Calymbor remembers the story of the Elves and the first time in centuries, the enchanted forest is found and Seraphs are seen once more in the world. In exchange for helping, the Seraphs requested additional aid in keeping the protective magics on the forest, as all the years holding it themselves has slowly weakened and drained them. The Seraphs realize that they cannot hold onto the forest with the Elves in exile, so they needed some sort of outside source of help.posted in Story

RE: SpellholdAlso, Spellhold is considered to be the foremost place of knowledge of lore, legends, myths, facts, etc. There is a 3x3 area for a library for books to load. There should be one there already. Players are encouraged to write histories, journals, etc on various things to add to the library. Syn approved small rewards for writing books for the library submitted by players.posted in Story

RE: Qalinosk's UpdatesOld Maze is Eithne's project. I am just there to do a small bit of it. I have ideas for it. Just need to go and put them in and work out bugs therein. Spellhold I said I would give up. The basic story behind it is in the story section. Enchanted Forest is just going through basic read throughs and cosmetic changes and getting mobs balanced as to how I need them as I go. Nothing major will be happening with it for a bit until I am done with that. Basic story behind it is in the story section as well.posted in Immortal Projects

Spellholdposted in Story
Another loose thought ordeal of the thoughts behind Spellhold.
A rather new institution within the realms, only being around for about 50 years, Spellhold quickly gained strength and popularity amongst the practicing magic users. For centuries, people had to find teachers to train their spells, making it difficult to learn technique, to know the history and evolving nature of magic. As a result, the number of people who died while practicing before Spellhold were horrendously high. The reason that it took so long for such a place to arise was that no one could agree as to how manage not only students, but how to hold court for renegade mages who make lives for other difficult, at best and non-existant at the worst. A concensus was made that the dark arts, known as necromancy, were banned from being taught within Spellhold, though histories may be allowed within the library to learn why such a step was made. Two portals were created for the admittance of both sides. In one, is the judiciary area. Within court is held, reports are made and filed and executions take place for those who have heinously misused their powers. Within the other is a huge, sprawling area for all thoughts of magic to be learned, from conjuration to abjuration to mental practices and transformations. There are rumours that despite the rules against necromancy within Spellhold, that deep under the structure is a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers devoted to the dark arts. Despite the best scrying attempts, such a place has yet to be found. -
Enchanted forestposted in Story
This is a very rough, straight and condensed thought of the background of the area. It is also leads into the origins of Elves.
The forest is said to be as old as time itself, if not older. The true purpose has been lost over the ages, or perhaps forgotten for a greater reason. The forest was once a thriving, lush place. It was filled with all forms of exotic life and at the heart of it all were the guardians, an angelic race. It was not long into the first age when two demons appeared within the forest. It is unclear how they came to there, but instant chaos ensued. The strength of the two demons was more than the angels could possibly handle. Seeing no other choice, the majority of the angels fled deeper into the forest, where they could harness the strength of the forest itself and ward themselves. One angel stayed behind to fight off the two demons, giving the rest who were fleeing a chance to seal off their exit. The angel did not die, though, from the attacks. Instead, he became transformed and cursed to wander the old village at night to protect it still. The two demons, no longer having a common goal, turned on each other and moved to opposite sides of the forest. Since that time, there has been a constant struggle between the three demons. One side never truly able to conquer the other. The struggle has been slowly draining the forest, killing it over the centuries. Due to the nature of the angel turned demon, at night time, he controls the defenses of the ruined village, while during the day, the angels hold on what little protection they have in protecting the forest. It is said that in the initial chaos, some angels had fled the forest for the outside realms. The gods having noticed their deserting nature, cursed them to mortal lives, stripping them of their wings and forced to labour and toil until they once more redeem themselves. Still having a love of the forest, these exiled angels moved into other forests to tend and care for them, calling themselves Elves. In recent times, runes of power have been said to grant back the exiles strength and beauty once more into seraphs. The ordeal of being reborn is not an easy one, but the acts of destroying some of the strongest evils in the realms is enough to grant a reprieve. There have been rumours that deep within the forest, resides a portal, one that is said to be able to lead to almost anywhere. So great was this portal, that legend holds that it could lead straight into heaven or hell, itself. It is believed that it was this portal that the demons came to the forest to find. What their plans were after finding it, is completely a mystery, but one might have considered easily that to open a portal to the abyss to bring an army of demons to the mortal realm, then into heaven itself is not an unfeasible idea. While proof of this is quite strong towards verifying this legend, no one has been able to find the location of this portal, much less the existance of the guardians. What has been discovered over the recent years is that there are demons which reside within the forest. -

RE: Redraven situationWith his history, I believe he should have no character above first class, first mort. All gold, dp, PK stats and pneuma stripped. All lockers and items purged. All stats and skills dropped to 1 each (being str, dex, hp, mana, sword, chill touch, etc). House recalls removed. All church commands disabled except for church talk. A flag put on his characters so they cannot get transfers from churches. Then, if he decides to cheat again, put on a botter flag on all his characters. Offense after that, delete his characters one by one, starting with his favourite and working down. It is a greater insult to keep the characters and have them reduced in this way than to be out right deleted.posted in Immortals Forum

Race type and special mazeposted in Requests
First, I would like to see a new race type "plant" to be added. We already have fungus and treant but that doesn't really cover what I want to add.
Second, is a specialized maze area. This isn't for an entire area, but for a few rooms so that players can't get just memorize the way through. Ideally, this would be great if it changed everytime a player entered the maze area itself, but could work just as easily if it were set up for every few hours to reboots.
What I would like is for the room to be able to randomly select a direction and link to another room, also at random.
Example:
I want it so that everytime it will link from room 1 to room 2 to room 3. Never the same way each time. But, to make it more difficult, there will be random, false, links that will connect from room 1 to room 4, 5 and possibly one of the other two rooms. The same for rooms 2 and 3. These links, at the very least, would change at reboots, preferably at every few hours, if possible. -
RE: ArmourI wasn't thinking of anything overly complicated at the moment, just something to alleviate the current weight problem until something more permanent can be found. If I were levelling, which I would NEVER do again in this game unless it gets changed, the amount of souls for the long assed-walk to PoA would be highly discouraging at best. The few people who do go are lucky that it isn't patrolled like it used to be. It would be impossible for them to get through. At least when it was a shorter walk, they had a slim chance.posted in Requests
